So, আজকে আমরা জানব number series থেকে কি ধরণের questions exam এ আসে। তার আগে আপনাকে number series এর basic concept and elementary arithmetic concepts জানতে হবে।
অনেক type এর number series আছে কিন্তু competitive exams এ সাধারণত perfect square , perfect cubes, Two-tier arithmetic, ratio series, Geometric and Mixed series থেকে questions থাকে।
Example 1.: What should be the missing term in the following series
3, 6, 12, 24, 48, 96, ?.
Solution: এই series এ previous term কে 2 দিয়ে গুন্ করে next term পাওয়া যায়।
3*2 = 6, 6*2 = 12, 12*2 = 24, 24*2 = 48, 48*2 = 96, 96*2 = 192.
Therefore missing term = 192.
Example : Find the wrong number in the given series 4, 5, 10, 18, 34, 59, 95.
Soln.: এই series এ প্রথম সংখ্যার সঙ্গে 1^2 যোগ করে দ্বিতীয় সংখ্যা ,দ্বিতীয় সংখ্যার সঙ্গে 2^2 যোগ করে তৃতীয় সংখ্যা পাওয়া যায় and so on ..
4 + 1^2 = 5, 5 + 2^2 = 9, 9 + 3^2 = 18, 18 + 4^2 = 34, 34 + 5^2 = 59, 59 + 6^2 = 95.
Therefore wrong number = 10.
Example: Which numbers will come at the place of A, B, C, D, E.
1ST series: 49, 100, 153, 208, 265, 324.
2nd Series : 16, A, B, C, D, E.
Soln.: 1ST series pattern : 49+51 = 100, 100+53 = 153, 153+55 = 208, 208+57 = 265, 265+59 = 324.
এখন আমাদের first series pattern অনুযায়ী second series কে arranged করতে হবে।
2nd Series : 16+51 = 67, 67+53 = 120, 120+55 = 175, 175+57 = 232, 232+59 = 291.
Therefore, A = 67, B = 120, C = 175, D = 232, E = 191.

অনেক type এর number series আছে কিন্তু competitive exams এ সাধারণত perfect square , perfect cubes, Two-tier arithmetic, ratio series, Geometric and Mixed series থেকে questions থাকে।
What type of questions asked on number series :
A number series questions সাধারণত numerical sequence এর logical rule amd basic elementary arithmetic concepts এর উপর based করে থাকে। যেখানে থেকে three types এর questions competitive exam এ আসে। নিচে এই three type এর questions আলোচনা করা হল -TYPE 1.:
This type of series এ একটা particular term missing থাকে আর আমাদের question এ দেওয়া series pattern এর উপর নির্ভর করে ওই missing term কে খুঁজে বের করতে হয়।Example 1.: What should be the missing term in the following series
3, 6, 12, 24, 48, 96, ?.
Solution: এই series এ previous term কে 2 দিয়ে গুন্ করে next term পাওয়া যায়।
3*2 = 6, 6*2 = 12, 12*2 = 24, 24*2 = 48, 48*2 = 96, 96*2 = 192.
Therefore missing term = 192.
TYPE 2.:
This type of series এ একটা particular number কে wrongly put করা হয় এবং আমাদের series pattern এর উপর based করে wrong number কে identify করতে হয়।Example : Find the wrong number in the given series 4, 5, 10, 18, 34, 59, 95.
Soln.: এই series এ প্রথম সংখ্যার সঙ্গে 1^2 যোগ করে দ্বিতীয় সংখ্যা ,দ্বিতীয় সংখ্যার সঙ্গে 2^2 যোগ করে তৃতীয় সংখ্যা পাওয়া যায় and so on ..
4 + 1^2 = 5, 5 + 2^2 = 9, 9 + 3^2 = 18, 18 + 4^2 = 34, 34 + 5^2 = 59, 59 + 6^2 = 95.
Therefore wrong number = 10.
TYPE 3.:
This type of questions এ এক সঙ্গে দুটো series থাকে। এখানে প্রথম series যে pattern এ arrange করা হয় ,সেই pattern অনুযায়ী আমাদের second series কে arrange করে unknown number কে খুঁজে বের করতে হয়।Example: Which numbers will come at the place of A, B, C, D, E.
1ST series: 49, 100, 153, 208, 265, 324.
2nd Series : 16, A, B, C, D, E.
Soln.: 1ST series pattern : 49+51 = 100, 100+53 = 153, 153+55 = 208, 208+57 = 265, 265+59 = 324.
